On December 22, Professor Yao Hong, Director of the Tumor Biotherapy Center at Yunnan Cancer Hospital (Yunnan Hospital of Peking University Cancer Hospital) and Doctoral Supervisor, together with Associate Professor Ge Chunlei, visited Shenzhen Cell Valley for exchange and discussion. Our Chairman, Professor Shi Yuanyuan, Commercial Director Wei Zheng, Head of Marketing Sun Rui, Deputy Head of Marketing Yang Jianglong, and Director of the General Administration Office Wang Lu, extended a warm welcome and participated in the symposium.

With a detailed introduction by Chairman Professor Shi Yuanyuan, the visiting leaders toured the Shenzhen Cell Valley digital smart exhibition hall, gaining a deeper understanding of Cell Valley's strategic planning, domestic and international strategic layout, core technological advantages, GMP-grade industrial-scale production of viral vectors and cell products, and future development trends. Subsequently, they visited the R&D, production, and quality management laboratories, obtaining a more intuitive appreciation of the operational processes and quality management systems.

During the symposium, Professor Shi Yuanyuan noted that Shenzhen Cell Valley holds a leading position in domestic retroviral vector technology (including the PackRV-SS system). Retroviral vectors offer safety advantages and cost benefits for industrial production. Moreover, Shenzhen Cell Valley has developed and industrially applied the BaEV envelope retroviral packaging engineered cell line with independent intellectual property rights, achieving over 90% transduction efficiency in T cells and NK cells, with no observed decrease in positivity rates. Through continuous R&D efforts, Shenzhen Cell Valley has also mastered technologies in off-the-shelf cell product preparation, as well as quality control in storage and recovery, and has established a clinical-grade CAR product library. Leveraging its core technologies, production systems, quality control systems, and talent teams, Shenzhen Cell Valley has established substantial comprehensive collaborations with multiple hospitals, accumulating considerable successful experience in co-building cell preparation centers and jointly applying for clinical research projects.

Director Yao Hong acknowledged the core technologies and clinical application cases demonstrated by Shenzhen Cell Valley. She introduced that Yunnan Cancer Hospital is a gradeA tertiary cancer specialty hospital in Yunnan Province integrating medical care, teaching, research, and prevention. In 2021, it was approved as a National Tumor Regional Medical Center construction project, undertaking tumor prevention and research, talent training, and academic exchange missions for the region. As a directly affiliated hospital of Kunming Medical University, it has 10 teaching departments, with 33 doctoral supervisors and 197 master's supervisors, forming a comprehensive talent cultivation system encompassing undergraduate, master's, doctoral, continuing education, and international student programs. The purpose of this visit was to gain insight into the current state of cell and gene therapy development through Shenzhen Cell Valley, thereby exploring potential cooperation in the cell therapy field at Yunnan Cancer Hospital.

This exchange enhanced mutual understanding between both parties. Both sides expressed the hope to conduct broader cooperation in the future, deepen joint efforts in building cell preparation centers, collaboratively apply for clinical research projects, enhance talent exchange and training, and contribute to the development of the cell and gene therapy industry.
